(Haar-Asthesiometer nach von Frey.)
Description: This device uses a camel(?) hair to provide various
levels of pressure to a small area of the skin in order to
determine the threshold for pressure at that location. The hair
is mounted inside a thin tube. The further the hair is extended,
the lower the pressure which is applied to the skin. The device
is calibrated through measurement of the length of the exposed
hair. (Expanded caption Copyright 1998, Edward J. Haupt)
