Lehmann-style plethysmograph.

(Plethysmograph nach Lehmann.)
Description: Then as now a plethysmograph was a device for transducing changes of volume (in this case into air pressure changes) which could then be recorded as changes over time. When an arm or other limb is placed in the plethysmograph, it can be used to show volumetric flow per unit time. In this unit, the volume changes are registered in a leather arm cuff secured by a chain. (Expanded caption Copyright 1998, Edward J. Haupt)
