Interruption pre-selector

(Unterbrechungs-Vorrichtung)
Description: This is a device which allows multiple records made on a kymograph drum to be lined up precisely under each other. The apparatus consists of two parts, a series of two contact breakers which are apparently attached to the shaft at the center of the kymograph drum. The separation of the two contact breakers is measured against a protractor and can be adjusted with a screw. The second part of the unit holds two sets of electrical contacts which control the point at which an electrical stimulus is applied to a muscle preparation. This unit is to be attached to a Baltzar-style kymograph (No. 210). The kymograph rotates at a steady rate, so precise timing of the switch closure is accomplished by the position of the contacts.
