Lip switch

(Lippenschlüssel)
Description: This switch is held between the lips. The contact is intended to be broken when a person speaks and the lips open. It is used to measure the latency of speech responses. It is successor to Cattell's "sound funnel" (not shown) which could be used to focus the sound on a membrane-activated switch like No. 92. (Expanded caption Copyright 1998, Edward J. Haupt)
