Römer's acoustic switch, an apparatus for acoustic stimulus and response

Description: This apparatus uses a diaphragm which is moved by a the air pressure of a vocal sound. The solenoid is initially closed. The apparatus is adjusted so that a tiny movement of the diaphragm (made of wood which could be used for inlay, and thus fine and thin) is amplified to open the solenoid and ring a bell.
