Marbe's Rotator (counterrotating disks)

(Rotations-Apparat nach Marbe)
Description: This is another type of rotational apparatus used to demonstrate the principles of color mixing. The disks are counter-rotating, and adjustable (for the sectors on the above disks) while they are turning. Because of the rapid setup, it can be used for research work (doubtful) and demonstrations of color complementarity and the production of color equations. The apparatus was apparently still in use in Germany in the 1950s. (Expanded caption Copyright 1998, Edward J. Haupt)
